The Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences is based in Schmalkalden, Thuringia, and was founded in its current form in 1991. It is therefore one of the younger German universities . Its international name is Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences . It has five faculties and offers 16 Bachelor's and 8 Master's courses (dual and full-time) as well as 12 part-time courses. Research and teaching are strongly influenced by MINT (= mathematics, computer science, natural science and technology) .
