The year 1999 marked the start of preparations for the establishment of a Polytechnic in Batam. The journey of politeknik negeri Batam’s organizational transformation began in that year. As a vocational university that is oriented towards strengthening students' practical abilities and skills, the Polibatam education process is supported by very adequate building infrastructure. This smoke-free building stands firmly on an area of ​​12.5 Ha in the center of Batam, Batam Center. The main building is the center for management activities, lecturers and the process of carrying out academic activities. The facilities in this building include 20 classrooms, 29 laboratories, library, administration room and information service room as well as various public facilities such as a mosque, canteen and auditorium which is quite large with a capacity of around 1000 people.
