The Indonesian Defense University (Unhan) or Indonesia Defense University (IDU) was established through the Letter of the Minister of National Education Number 29/MPN/OT/2009 dated March 6 2009 concerning the Establishment of the Defense University and was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on March 11 2009 at the State Palace. The Defense University is a unique higher education institution because it specializes in defense studies at Master's level. The Defense University is an open higher education institution. IDU provides opportunities for TNI and civilian officers to learn and deepen Defense Science from a military, political, economic, social and cultural perspective.
