Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya UNIVERSITY (UNUSA) was officially founded in 2013. But its roots are more than 40 years old. Starting from the Health Nursing School (SPK) in 1979, then establishing the Nursing Academy (Akper) in 1985, and the Midwife Academy (Akbid) in 1997 and then Akbid and Akper merged into the Health College (STIKes) in 2006, and in 2013 STIKes changed to UNUSA. This long journey has left valuable experiences when turning into a university. That is why even though it is only 6 years old, UNUSA has come a long way. Even the East Java Regional Higher Education Service Institute (L2Dikti Jatim—formerly Koopertis) named UNUSA as the New Private Higher Education with the Fastest Growth in 2018.
