One of five Universities of the Arts in Saxony, the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden was founded in 1925 and is the only independent University in Germany solely for Dance. The University has an integrated secondary and boarding school and offers an interdisciplinary education in dance for more than 200 students from 23 nations in its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. These include B.A. programmes in Dance and Dance Education, M.A. programmes in Dance Education and Choreography as well as an Artistic Master Class and an Apprentice programme run in co-operation with the Semperoper Ballett. Interdisciplinary projects and team work as well as life-long learning are essential features of the whole course of study, which puts the individual with their own skills and competencies at its centre.
