This note describes the basic strategies on building an MPP tracker using a standard 2 quadrant chopper topology. A MATLAB tool is included to see how the impedance conversion works using this topology. Basic strategies to calculate the inductance and capacitors and for choosing the switches depending on voltage and power level of the PV-system and the grid are presented. The reader can adept basic principles if he wants to build up a converter himself.
