The Knowledge Note will discuss the most important battery parameters like SOC, SOH, DOD, C-rate and Cycle life without diving into the battery technologies. Insight in these parameters will be the base for the discussion of the Battery-Monitoring-System (BMS). The main functions of the BMS will be discussed and the importance of the functions will be explained for the integration of the battery within a small Nano-grid.
